THANKS for Your Support!
Elek Plumbing was honored to participate in the 2019 Bingo for a Cure event, held earlier this month in honor of Joshua Scoble (son of Elek technician, David Scoble). Josh has fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP), a rare genetic disease that turns the body’s soft tissues to bone.
Every year, Joshua’s Future of Promises’ 501(c)(3) organization holds Bingo for a Cure at the Allentown Fairgrounds, and 100% of proceeds go toward FOP medical research, disease awareness and family advocacy.
A quick update from this year’s Bingo for a Cure Event:
- Over 1700 people in attendance, including 100+ volunteers
- Total proceeds: $116,500
- $1,045,000 raised for FOP research since 2008
Thank You From the Scobles
“Wow! We cannot begin to express in words how grateful and humbled we are for the tremendous amount of support that we continue to receive from our family, friends and the entire community! We continue to be blessed with everyone’s continued support, and we could have never reached this $1 million+ milestone without your help and support. The Scoble family, as well as all FOP patients and their families, are eternally grateful to everyone who donated, attended, baked or volunteered. Because of all of you, we have high hopes for a treatment or a cure to be found. Thank you for everything you do, and we look forward to seeing you next year at our 13th Bingo for a Cure event on Mar. 22, 2020.”
