The Atlas Cement Company Museum is a historic site in Northampton, Pennsylvania, that will showcase the importance of cement and promote the growing industry. The museum is expected to open in 2020 and will be located at the Atlas Cement Company’s former plant site. In 1862, the company opened to produce Portland cement. It remained in operation for more than 100 years.

With a projected shortage of cement for the next several decades, there is a need to educate the public about the industry. Currently, there are a few sites in the United States that are dedicated to cement. However, none of them are comprehensive and fully comprehensive. This will be the first comprehensive cement museum to be open to the public in over 100 years. The site also provides an excellent location for the museum with easy access to East Coast ports, locomotives, and highways.

The Atlas Cement Company Museum is located in Northampton, Pennsylvania. Northampton is approximately two hours away from Philadelphia and two hours away from Wilmington, Delaware. There are three ways to get to the Atlas Cement Company Museum. The E-Liner’s Northampton Station is the closest train station to the museum. Amtrak’s Keystone Service also stops at the Northampton Station. Both of these travel options take less than two hours to get to the Northampton Station. If you’d like to travel by car, you have three options. You can head east on I-476 and take Exit 1 for Route 30. You can also take I-476 west to Route 30 and then follow Route 30 south. Finally, you can take I-81 to Route 30 and then follow Route 30 south.

The Atlas Cement Company was founded in 1849 by Jacob Waldo Atlas. During its 100-year history, the company produced nearly one billion pounds of Portland cement. By closing its doors in 1995, the company left behind a century of history.

In 1862, Jacob Waldo Atlas opened a kiln in Northampton that produced cement. He soon began experimenting with different types of clays.

Waldo Atlas was not only an entrepreneur and inventor, but also a scientist. He spent time in Europe studying chemistry. Upon returning to Northampton, he continued his experiments with clays. He experimented with different types of clays and minerals. He also experimented with grinding processes, which were a new concept at the time.

The Atlas Cement Company Museum will be a three-story structure that totals more than 8,500 square feet. The first floor will contain a retail area and the second floor will hold the museum galleries. The third floor will be used for offices and storage space.

Conservation – The conservation area will focus on the archiving of the company’s 100-plus years of history. It will include information about the company’s records and employment records.

Visual Arts – The visual arts area will display the work of local artists. It will also include a research library and archives that are used to preserve the work of the local artists.

There are three types of tickets that you can buy to access the Atlas Cement Company Museum.

Single-Day Standard Admission

– This ticket allows you to enter the museum on one day and leave on another. It costs $15, and it’s best for people who are visiting the museum for one day.

Single-Day with All Access Admission

– This ticket allows you to enter the museum with unlimited access for one day. All Access tickets cost $34, and it’s best for people who want to spend more than one day at the museum.

20-Day Unlimited Admission

– This ticket allows you to enter the museum any number of times during the 20-day period. Unlimited admission tickets cost $39 each time you use the ticket.
